ラマ

English translation: pop-up towers

Marketing - Advertising / Public Relations
Japanese term or phrase: ラマ
This is one item in a list of materials to be used for advertising and marketing.
Full list: ポスター、ラマ、ディスプレイキット、リーフレット、手配りフライヤーなど

I've had no luck at all finding it. Maybe it's a shortened form of something? The products being marketed are cosmetics/skin care items. Thanks in advance.

English translation:pop-up towers
Explanation:
I really don't know if this is what they are referring to, and I'm not even sure what to call it in English. It's written as either 「アート・ラマ」 or「アトーラマ」, so there's a fighting chance that 「ラマ」would have been chosen as its abbreviation. You'll definitely want to clink on the links to see the pictures, as perhaps you'll have a better idea about what to call these things.

They also seem to be called 「ワンタッチ組立てPOP」and other similar things, as they are one particular variety of POP (point of purchase) display:

As for the English, I think these things are a simplified version of the following: http://www.displays2go.com/Category.aspx?ID=823

I can't find any English sites with the same kind of poster stand, so perhaps something like "pop-up stands" (not to be confused with POP displays) would cover the broad category of similar displays. "Pop-up towers" seems to refer more specifically to displays with the shape of the アート・ラマ that I found. However, I don't think either term refers to exactly the same thing, as both the pop-up towers and pop-up stands seem to have more structure to them.

Perhaps someone else has a more creative idea? Something more general like "freestanding in-store signs" or "POP promotional signs" (it doesn't seem that these signs are limited to POP usage, but perhaps that doesn't matter in this context)?

Thanks to everyone for your very well-researched answers. Shannon's sounded most plausible, so I used "pop-up stands" and added a note. VERY helpful info from you all -- thanks again!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hmmm, looks like a reasonable possibility. It appears several times in the text, though, so it seems odd that they would mistype it every time.

diorama, display frame

Explanation:
I doubt it is a typo.

disagree  humbird: All other are one-dementional, portable material. Why this three-dimentinal, thus non portable stuff?
2 hrs
-> Without fulll context, all we can do is guess (hence the low confidence indication). As to non-portable, that is not true, these display cases/boxes/frames can be quite small, even the size of a shoebox, fit for a shelf or a table.

agree  Joyce A: As you say, there is little context, but given the large range of unusual abbreviations used in the advertising industry, and the nature of the items used in this particular sentence, I tend to believe that "diorama, display frame" is correct.

agree  Katalin Horváth McClure: Yes, I think this is a very good guess. "rama" in many languages refers to a frame, a scene, e.g. "panorama", and this is definitely a 3D thing. I think pop-up sign, freestanding sign is a good aproximation in English for this context.

-> Thank you for the helpful comments! I like your ideas, particularly "pop-up sign." I wonder what the "アート" part stands for. Art? Artrama?
