Italian term or phrase: NVC
"L’operatore di NVC effettua la procedura di soccorso sul cdb di ricoprimento della stazione (sul segnale di avviso)"

I cannot find anything to even suggest what NVC might stand for in this context, let alone an English meaning. Any help is much appreciated.

neutral  philgoddard: I think we have the right Italian meaning for NVC, but I don't see how you arrive at your translation. //"Nucleo vitale" means the core or essence of your being, not "failsafe".

-> nucleo = unit; vitale = fail safe; I know, as an ex railway consultant, that this is an automated signalling system. The Egnlish terms are all propriatary system terms, or too long, such as failsafe track side command and control signalling sytem

neutral  philgoddard: This must be a mistake, because C doesn't stand for "periferico", but it does get us to the right answer.
