knitted square/checked motif Explanation: I'd use knitted so it's clear we are talking about the way the skirt is knitted and not the colour -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 49 mins (2019-07-31 09:21:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or maybe Square knit motif |

tonal checked knit/weave Explanation: Depending on if you have an actual photo or are working strictly from text, in the latter case I might opt for "[color] tonal checked wool knit" if other descriptors indicate it's stretchy, [color] tonal checked wool weave" if not (or if not indicated). Because I also love Lisa Jane's motif suggestion, a combo could be "[color] wool skirt with a tonal checked motif" In the former case, it would be easier to accurately describe the motif, i.e. tonal plaid as seen in my second link, or "textured monochromatic houndstooth weave/motif" https://www.moodfabrics.com/black-chevron-chunky-wool-knit-325233 https://www.hugoboss.com/us/tonal-plaid-stretch-skirt-manelli/hbna50372094_001.html#productdetailcontainer |
