The word "regina", which I have been unable to find a satisfactory translation for, in this case is used to describe the most frequently performed opera in a theatre's opera seasons.

disagree  philgoddard: This is not what it means as far as I can see. It says "del teatro", which I take to mean "this theatre". And, as the asker says, it's their most popular opera, not one of their most popular.

  -> I can say Aida is one of the most frequently performed opera in every theatre, in Italy, one of the most popular. I don't know who is the target audience or if it is publicity...this is a neutral choice that can be adapted.
