Italian to English Medical Medical: Health Care
An entry in the medical diary kept by the nursing staff says:

"Paziente stazionario. Apiretico."

Does stazionario here mean stable or non-ambulatory?

I know that le condizioni del malato sono stazionarie means that the patient is stable, but I am wondering whether they actually mean non-ambulatory here?

Thanks for the clarification, colleagues! The root of this word confuses as it has very different meanings in different languages. In German medical context, for example, "stationär" means inpatient (often wrongly translated), and then we've also got the "variant" stationery in English....!! Have a good evening!

Stable conditions I'm pretty sure, IMO, that it means "stable" here. It's a very frequent statement in medical reports at the hospital or emergency room admisssion.
