with a nod to his own class Explanation: it means something like this There is some irony here...as the sentance then goes on to say 'Naturally it is a noble aim/objective', the speaker is saying between the lines that whoever he is interviewing is an aristocrat, from the 'noble' class. Maybe he is a wealthy high-class gentleman who has chosen to open his historical property to the public (ie: the noble aim is to donate his property which shall enrich the local heritage). |
