Explanation:
I don't normally post identical answers to other people, but Patricia's explanation is incorrect.

If you watch the film, other ingredients of the cocktail include beriberi and nitroglycerin, and when you drink it, smoke comes out of your ears.

British people will understand "blue touchpaper", which is from the instructions for lighting fireworks.
