Una seconda categoria è rappresentata da reti di circuizione e da seccaleva.
Come la stessa denominazione suggerisce, questi attrezzi servono a circondare i branchi di pesce individuati. Nel golfo di Trieste è ancora oggi diffusa la pesca del pesce azzurro effettuata sia con la saccaleva che con la fonte luminosa (lampara).
In tal caso, il pesce viene attirato nella zona mediante le fonti luminose poste sulle barche. Per convogliare il pesce in un unico punto, dopo circa 1 paio d'ore dall'inizio dell'operazione si lascia accesa la luce di una sola barca, mentre un'altra barca compie il rituale giro, sfilando la rete tutti intorno; dopo di che, viene chiuso il sacco e salpato l'attrezzo.

A tale proposito mi è venuto in mente un episodio accaduto a Isola d'Istria con l'introduzione nel sistema di pesca della "saccaleva". La svolta fu l' utilizzo delle lampade a carburo dal 1925 al servizio di una rete di nuova concezione: la saccaleva.
