Italian term or phrase: affaticato
in cui detto riscaldamento avviene per effetto Joule ad opera di correnti parassite circolanti sulla superficie del cilindro goffratore, indotte da un induttore elettromagnetico affaticato alla superficie comprendendo una fase di variazione della frequenza di induzione per variare la profondità superficiale su cui indurre le correnti parassite.

Part of a patent application (so the phrase is long and complex anyway because that is how patent attorneys write!). I totally get everything except for that "affaticato". It may be a typo (there are others in the text) but can anybody suggest either the meaning or what the typo might be for?

Thanks in advance!

Explanation:
this would make sense here I think, if it is a typo

Asker: Yes, that would certainly make more sense. I had hoped to find another point in the text (this is from the claims) in which the same phrase contained the right word, but sadly whoever wrote it must have used copy and paste!!

Explanation:
Typo for attaccato perhaps? Adhered or attached to the surface.
That would make sense.

Asker: Attaccato would certainly make more sense, it just seems a very long way from what is written!
