Italian term or phrase: gruzzoli e ripostigli monetali
This is from an article on Roman coinage.

ll tesoretto egiziano.

I'm wondering whether ripostigli might be something like "hoard", as I'm unfamiliar with the meaning of the word in this context. Not quite sure how to render gruzzoli. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

coin stashes and hoards

Explanation:
Stash is often used with money and could render gruzzolo which is quite an idiomatic word just as a stash is in English.
Hoard is often used with large quantities of coins and treasure.

Construction workers stumbled across a massive 600kg stash of ancient roman coins while carrying out routine pumping in southern Spain.

Last month, divers off the coast of the ancient Roman port of Caesarea discovered a hoard of nearly 2,000 gold coins. The coins are about 1,000 years old and come from all around the Mediterranean Sea. Archaeologists pointed to one coin that is a quarter dinar from Palermo, Sicily, while other coins are from the Fatimid Caliphate, the Shiite Muslim empire that governed large parts of North Africa and the Middle East.

Workman were fixing up water pipes on the construction site on Wednesday in the town of Tomares near Seville when they happened across the potentially multi-million pound stash.

I would be careful though with hoards as I think it only refers to very large quantities
