Indonesian term or phrase: kurang pas didengar
In a questionnaire about a name for a new product, a respondent gave the response "Padanan kata tsb kurang pas didengar!!!" to one of the questions. I get the sense that either the term referred to translates into something inappropriate/rude in Indonesian, or it makes no sense/is unheard of to an Indonesian. How would you translate 'kurang pas didengar' in this sentence?

agree  Budi Suryadi-: the problem with this phrase is that the word "pas" is taken from a Dutch word, namely PAST.

-> But you cannot use the word "past" in the Dutch translation. One wouyld say "Het klinkt niet helemaal juist", which is closer to "It doesn't sound quite right" rather than "het past niet" which means it's not appropriate or it doesn't fit, e.g. shoes.
