A másik javaslatra (pocket fishing kit) tényleg sok találat jön ki a neten, de ha képen is megnézzük ezek a fontosabb kellékek (horog, ólom, úszó) készleteire utalnak. Ezek így még horgászára alkalmatlanok. Amit mi "zsebpecának" (szép nevén: úszós készség) nevezünk, az leginkább a "handline fishing" vagy "handlining" körébe tartozik.
A pocket / pocket-size használata azért sem biztos, hogy szerencsés, mert azt a "botos" horgászásnál használják jelzőnek: lásd pocket fishing rod, pocket pen rod vagy pen fishing rod. Ez azonban semmiképpen nem azonos a mi "zsebpecánkkal", mert nem teljesül a bot és orsó nélküliség.
