translocation/rearrangement Explanation: I'm not sure about the specific terminology here, but according to the explanations on this site: http://www.zamirshalita.com/elf-emr-damage/elf-damage "שחלק של הגן עובר ניקוע, דהיינו, גן מכרומוזום אחד, מתחבר לפרומוטר של גן אחר" I'm pretty sure that we're talking about a rearrangement - in this case it's a translocation. See also: https://books.google.de/books?id=UeBZXfXMphgC&pg=PA24&dq=chr... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 mins (2015-07-22 20:36:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It's a translocation here because the full explanation is: "או שחלק של הגן עובר ניקוע, דהיינו, גן מכרומוזום אחד, מתחבר לפרומוטר של גן אחר, הנמצא על כרומוזום אחר. הפרומוטר החדש עלול להיות חזק יותר, ואז הוא גורם ביטוי מופרז של הגן המחובר" You can translate פרומוטר חזק as "strong promoter". |
