NIS SIGN

Hebrew to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general)
Hebrew term or phrase: NIS SIGN
On Hebrew documents, you put the NIS sign after the amount - such as in the sentence This costs 15 (NIS sign) = זה עולה 15 ש"ח
I work for this company, and I submit a perfect translation - but the proofreader keeps switching the NIS position to before the amount, just like they do with the USD sign. (i.e., This costs $15)
for example
This costs (NIS sign)15 = זה עולה ש"ח 15
Where do you position the NIS sign when translating?

(In the picture, an example from the last document, which was otherwise perfect and would have awarded me with a bonus)

NIS [Amount]

Explanation:
The NIS sign is placed before the sum of money involved, just like you would with:
$ 1,000

Example sentence(s):
  • Finance minister: NIS 2,500 immediately to every person who ... www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4884679,00.html However, he did not specify any such distinction regarding the initial NIS 2,500 per affected person. פרסום ראשון: 11.26.16, 23:42

NIS or ILS

Explanation:
I have never seen the shekel sign used in an English text; it is a combination of two Hebrew letters and as such I can't see why you would leave it like that in a translated document. I would either translate it as NIS, which is the unofficial abbreviation for New Israeli Shekel in English, or ILS, which is the official international currency code.

And of course, before the sum of money.
