I have one question related to know the reference from two german pronoms in this sentence:

Der Hauptgegenstand der vorliegenden Abhandlung ist, die Wirkungen einer wichtigen Ursache zu untersuchen, die innig verknüpft ist mit dem Wesen des Menschen, und die, trotzdem sie seit den Anfängen der Gesellschaft ununterbrochen und kraftvoll gewirkt hat, doch von den Schriftstellern; die diesen Gegenstand bisher behandelt haben, wenig beachtet worden ist.
