Synodal church Explanation: I have included two links below: one about the origin of the term "send" which is used in Ecclesiastical Law (2nd link), and another regarding some other churches in Ostfriesland which are also known as Sendkirchen (1st link). Given the deeper context of the term, "send" having its roots in the word "synod", then a translation rendering "Sendkirche" as a "synodal church" makes sense. Hope this helps.
