I stand corrected, Shrovetide should be the answer.

You are right, Shrove Tuesday is the last day of Shrovetide - the period that comes before Lent.

Shrovetide, Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day are more of a tradition than a "holiday/holy day" in the UK, ever since Henry VIII did away with all the catholic celebrations.

Here's an article about Shrovetide - it also mentions Fastnacht as the "eve of the fast" - which seems to indicate Shrove Tuesday, it being the day before Lent begins.
