German term or phrase: A.a.

Hi folks.
Doing a birth certificate for a friend, so I am a little out of my depth.

Title on the document:
Geburtsurkunde {this is crossed out and to the right, printed (or maybe a stamp) is:} A.a.
Beglaubigte Abschrift aus dem Geburtsregister
des Standesamtes III München

And then we go on.
None of the Kudoz seems to fit.
I am wondering if this is how they show that the title, which is crossed out, was crossed out officially. The signature for the official at the bottom does not start with 'A' so I am thinking it is not initials. The date of the document is 1918 and it is written in Fraktur, so I have two strikes against me.

So, anybody from that era :) or who works in that era who can help?

Explanation:
I would leave it untranslated. Pretty sure it means the form code. See my discussion posts. In an official translation this would be left untranslated. You can tell your friend that it's just "Form Aa".
