German term or phrase: Matern
This is from an Excel list relating to a marketing campaign for cars.
Could it be "template" in English or something else altogether?

Matern, eine Version – adaptiert als 2-, 3-, 4-Spalter, also 3 Motive gesamt unter Verwendung von Keyvisual Position 1 oder 2 oder vorliegendem Fotomotiv.

Thanks in advance for your help!

neutral  philgoddard: Your translation may be correct, but your explanation is not. This is about advertising, not printing. I suspect it means a matrix of formats.

Reference: Mater - matrix

Reference information:
Langenscheidt gives "matern" as: to make a matrix of (in printing)

I think this must be meaning 3 of the Oxford dic. link, so therefore something akin to a "mother version" (a mould).
