Explanation:
Nain-Teppiche haben häufig folgende Bezeichnungen: 4La, 6La, 9La usw. ("La" heißt "Schicht" auf persisch). Dies ist eine Qualitätsbezeichnung und bezieht sich auf die Anzahl der Fadenschichten, die in jedem Kettenfaden enthalten sind. Je geringerer die angegebene Zahl ist, desto feiner und dichter ist der Teppich geknüpft. Man kann die Anzahl der Fadenschichten kontrollieren, indem man die Fäden der Teppichfransen zählt; bei drei Fädenpaaren (siehe Abb.) pro Teppichfranse handelt es sich um einen 6La-Teppich.
