Gehalt: Das Arbeitsentgelt wird überwiegend als Monatsgehalt gezahlt. Die Anzahl der Arbeitstage im Monat und die erbrachte Leistung (ohne Boni) haben für die Höhe des Gehalts keine Bedeutung. Das Gehalt ist jeden Monat gleich hoch.

Lohn: Dagegen kann der Lohn von der erbrachten Arbeitsleistung, beispielsweise die Anzahl der tatsächlichen Arbeitstage, abhängen. Die Lohnhöhe kann also jeden Monat anders sein.
