Изучаю историю города Нанси, попалась замечательная статья фр-го историка. Но столкнулся с трудностями при переводе такого абзаца:

un autre moulin, dit de l'Etanche, appartient aux Cisterciens de Clairlieu, et le ruisseau qui les alimente tous deux est appelé indifféremment dans les textes du XIV° siècle, le rupt Saint-Jean ou le rupt de l'Etanche.

Черновой перевод:

другая мельница, названная Этанш , принадлежала цистерцианцам из Клерльё, а ручей, который питал обе эти мельницы в текстах XIV века был равнодушно назван ручьём? Сен-Жан или ручьём? Этанш.

Сомневаюсь по поводу перевода термина "rupt" - действительно ли здесь он употреблен в значении "ручей"?
И как перевести l'Etanche - хотя, скорей всего это непереводимое название.
