French term or phrase: Cours d'interprétation
This is the title of a series of master classes on period harpsichords offered to young professionals, and I'm seeking a pithy equivalent in English. Someone more musically-minded than I perhaps knows what a high-level course like this in English might be called, irrespective of the actual terms used in the French. Any help much appreciated!

disagree  writeaway: performance courses do exist but this is interpretation. Performance in French would be exécution /well I disagree because this is fully wrong.

agree  philgoddard: Performance and interpretation are the same thing. Interprète means performer. http://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/interprète

agree  Lara Barnett: Yes, even if you got fussy and distinguished between our English use of "performance" vs "interpretation," you would focus on finding your own interpretation of a piece if you studied performance anyway.
