French term or phrase: Muscles masticateurs proprement dits
Good evening! I'm working on the summary of a French dental course transcript. Unfortunately, the context is simply a list of anatomy courses:

E - Muscles
a) MUSCLES MASTICATEURS PROPREMENT DITS
b) Muscles sus hyoïdiens
c) Muscles de la mimique

F - Glandes salivaires
a) glandes salivaires interpariétales et extra-pariétales

I've got the 'muscles of mastication' part, but what would the "procurement dits" refer to? Possible translations:
"muscles of mastication", properly speaking
"muscles of mastication by themselves"

Or some other more natural translation? Thanks for your suggestions!

[muscles of mastication] per se
Explanation:
Maybe there is a better choice but this would sound natural.

The point is that some muscles are involved in chewing but only indirectly bevause they are attachments to the main muscles.

"muscles proper" also would be correct, but archaic or too British.

Primary muscles of mastication

Explanation:
A number of articles talk about "primary" and "accessory" muscles of mastication, so I wonder if this could be used?

neutral  writeaway: an agree to the same answer above would have been nice. Even your refs use muscles of mastication/it's not really a matter of parsing.
