Come on Daryo please. Phil's suggestion is probably not the most eloquent but he said himself that had reservations and when speaking of maths, we do say ".... and this gives us..." On the other hand a "consequence of this definition" is really weird, firstly because mathematical formulas are not "definitions" (despite the French) but "equations" and secondly, because "equations" do not normally have "consequences". We "derive" or obtain" results/properties from them. Regards |
