English translation: Wifi coverage

French term or phrase: quadrillage Wi-Fi
This is a feature of a handheld order terminal (i.e. taking orders in restaurants, etc. using an electronic device instead of noting them down on paper), which is said to be "doté d'un qadrillage WiFi de dernière génération."

I simply don't know what this means. 'Grid' comes to mind to translate 'quadrillage', but that doesn't seem to get me anywhere. Or does it? I'm lost!

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

English translation:Wifi coverage
Explanation:
"quadrillage" might mean something like coverage. Here, it may be the coverage when you use the phone as a Wifi access point?

Thanks. This makes sense, although I still think the French is not very clear in this case.

Wifi connection

Explanation:
This POSLIGNE machine has a wifi B/G connection. The G represents 56 MBIT/S which isn't actually great - a " Quadrillage WIFI très performant" would be more like A in my mind (same speed, but greater signal range).

agree  Victor Foster: Since "de dernière génération" is invoked that does infer mobile/telephone as an access point

Explanation:
Il s'agit de la portée du terminal mobile. Il a une longue portée lorsqu'il envoie les données lors de pride de commande.

neutral  DLyons: Have you any references? It doesn't have an A connection, so is limited range.
