Change log

Oct 20, 2015 20:35: Yolanda Broad changed "Term asked" from "corps cetoniques" to "corps cétoniques"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): abe(L)solano

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Oct 18, 2015:
@Svava Hello Svava, I think you probably have the answer you need. For future posts, you might like to consider providing a little more in the way of context. There is nothing evident between "legal document" and ketones, even though you do of course provide the context of Medical - Biology etc.
What generally helps, is posting the term in an extract of the original, and if in a list, a table then describing the contxt in which the terms appears, with indications as to who produced the document (eg. professional function) and who is the final reader.

Acetone: A volatile liquid used as an industrial solvent. Acetone is also one of the ketone bodies that is formed when the body uses fat instead of glucose (sugar) for energy. The formation of acetone is usually a sign that cells lack insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin that is available, as occurs in diabetes. Acetone is excreted from the body in the urine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketone_bodies

Ketone bodies are three water-soluble molecules that are produced by the liver from fatty acids during periods of low food intake (fasting) or carbohydrate restriction for cells of the body to use as energy instead of glucose. Two of the three are used as a source of energy in the heart and brain while the third (acetone) is a degradation breakdown product of acetoacetic acid.
