any good ideas for how to translate this, KEEPING the man-technology image?

"across the range of disciplines" was my choice of a free translation but I'm wondering how to keep the original image

across A (rather than THE) range of disciplines and, in your explanation, a solution:
from the humanities to science and technology (keeps the human element without the somewhat awkward personification)
