rapid assault tactics Explanation: So the MK1 which I think is a gun, is on the bow of RAT 1 (i.e. the rapid assault tactics ship number 1) or the MK1 is another boat in front of (at the bow) of RAT1. Probably not a rocket assisted torpedo. or there are "bilge rats" which are devices used for contraband inspections; http://rotorcraft.arc.nasa.gov/publications/files/Young_2005... scroll down to bilge rats |

Reference: rat Reference information: Here´s someone who could answer your question! But so far I haven´t seem any explanation of what "rat" means. However, it does reinforce the argument that "rat" is a kind of boat, which the context above makes fairly clear. It´s a long article: search for "come back with" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-02-23 21:17:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here is a link that confirms that RAT also means Risk Assessment Tool. Search for PS-RAT. http://cryptome.sabotage.org/uscg070103.htm As far as I can gather, this refers not to a boat but to some system for assessing risk. And I still think the RAT in the context must be a boat! You can´t stand of the bow of a tool... Reference: http://usmilnet.com/smf/index.php?topic=12287.120 |
