Testing in the mill / factory Explanation: As opposed to in lab testing. tensile tests longitudinal, transverse, mill control. Elongation and elasticity tests done under factory test conditions..the length of them are correct, they are bendy enough, and they don't break easily. hydrostatic tests mill inspection hydrostatic, pressure test. A test in the factory for leaks and swelling under pressure done in a factory at time of production. Coating - Mill test, appearance, thickness. there is usually a coating over the pipe to protect the plastic so this will be a visual test to make sure the coating is uniform and all over. In the Laboratory test, one in 200 (or so) pipes will be taken out of the Mill, (Plastic Mill) and taken down to the lab and tested thoroughly to make sure all mill operating procedures are correct. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2010-05-26 21:38:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Köszönöm Csaba |

Reference Reference information: I worked for nine years in the plastics industry (albeit in a non-English speaking environment) and never heard these terms used. However they are used in the metal industry (cf. steel mill) and occasionally used in the plastics industry (see first reference below), probably by people like those who wrote your spec sheet who are non-native speakers of English and possibly more used to the metal industry than the plastics industry.
