I'm translating a text for cosmetic products. I have come across this word in parenthesis.

Un-Wrinkle Night Cream (Unseal)

Does it mean "opened"? Hence, it's an out of standard quality product and sold cheaper?

Thank you

Selected answer:unsealed
Explanation:
Based on a google search, packaging is sold both sealed and unsealed . Apparently items can be sold after the original seal has been broken if this is noted, for example, on Ebay: "A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing its original packaging, or the original packaging has been opened or is no longer sealed. The item may be a factory second, or a new and unused item with minor defects. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections." http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/item-condition.html. "unsealed tubes, etc. are are sold, but it appears without content: http://cospackintl.en.alibaba.com/product/322577678-21013725...
This is what I found. Perhaps someone else has more information.

agree  Charles Davis: I've been coming to that conclusion too. It's strange, though, because the "unseal" doesn't seem to be systematically cheaper than the manufacturer's price.

  -> Thanks, Charles. You're right, some of the most expensive products are packaged that way.

agree  Judith Maria Müller: makes sense to me. the item might have been part of a cosmetics package before that was sealed as a package, and is now being sold individually

  -> Thanks very much, Judith.

agree  Alison MacG: I think it probably refers to a line/product not actually used or opened, but (normally) sold without a safety seal/tamper-evident seal (also means no returns allowed!). See, e.g.: http://nouveaucheap.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/wednesday-questio...

  -> Thanks, Alison. Really interesting reference.
