status of the data is: "stored in the memory" Explanation: This is how I see it. obviously the sentence needs some simplification, but the clue of what You're probably looking for is that the status of the data changes. Imagine a new file in word processor that You put some text in. It hasn't been saved yet. It''s status is "not saved". After You save this file as a new file, one can say that the status of your file is "saved to a disk". Same here, probably some extra parameter of this data set may have different values depending on whether the data was or was not saved/retained in this particular type of memory. Please note that this is my most intelligent guess, what I have written above does not stem directly from the text bur rather from my experience in similar area and with similar types of uncertainty. |
