Yes - Kent is right. I should have consulted the Svenska Akademiens Ordlista instead of Wikipedia.
Anyway - the word itself is so "un-known" (if you are not a specialist) that most Swedish-speakers will not recognize either "rödlo" or "rödloar". If I had to use a Swedish translation of Bobcat I would write something like this "Det nordamerikanska lodjuret, lynx rufus - rödlon, lever i ..." and in plural "De nordamerikanska lodjuren, lynx rufus, lever i ....".
