Asker: Hay algunos errores en la redacción en inglés que denotan que quien lo escribió (se trata de una declaración de un testigo de parte en una demanda civil) es hispanohablante, y quizá por eso dice "screens" y no "screening machines/equipment" o algo así.

agree  Neil Ashby: I agree Patinba, I think this is more likely, although "earth screen" is a bit unusual in English, we'd normally say "embankment" or similar. PS, please remember you should not comment on other suggestions in your own explanation.
