Mansplaining je u svojoj srži vrlo specifična stvar. To je ono što se događa kada muškarac, razgovarajući s nekim (uglavnom ženom) arogantno i „s visoka“ govori o nečemu što mu je nepoznato, s pogrešnom pretpostavkom da on zna više o tome od osobe/žene s kojom razgovara.
