Norwegian translation:Hydraulisk oppsprekking
Explanation:
Fracking is short for hydraulic fracturing. We don't have any similar words in Norwegian, so I would use hydraulisk oppsprekking. Or you could maybe make up a Norwegian word, for example frakking? In the US there has been more of a open discourse around this questionable practice, and there has been protests from, among others Artists Against Fracking fronted by art legend Yoko Ono.
