English term or phrase: showers
Salam.

This is a meteorology term used in weather forecast for an app localization.

Is there any term that accurately describes showers?

I tried to find this term in MetMalaysia but no success. How to differentiate showers from rain?

-> the correct NWS definition, rain is steady and continuous, showers start and stop abruptly and can vary in intensity

Thank you.
