If you want to translate category of clothing, I can see it is often used "striukės ir švarkai" for jackets, because it is difficult to find one word fitting all. But if you must choose, maybe "švarkas" could be more universal.

neutral  Rita Vaicekonyte: "Striukės ir švarkai" is a good choice for a clothing category. However, "švarkas" means a formal (suit) jacket only and excludes all outerwear jackets (leather/windbreaker/parka/etc.). In LT, there really is no single word that encompasses all jackets.
