以下のURLにもあるように、このcapitalというのは経理上支出として計上される部品に対して使用されます。プラントでのスペアは２つに大別されます：必ず置いておかなくてはいけないものと、置いておくことが推奨されるものです。これに加えて、insurance spareと言われる、何か発生した時にあれば、その修理のためにプラントを停止する時間を短縮できるものです。それを日本語で何というかはわからないですが、capitalは資本というほうの意味で、主要でないことは確かです。
