English term or phrase: washed painted finish
Hallo,

Gisela

Wischtechnik/Wischlasur/Antikiert
Explanation:
Often a white, almost transparent, wash applied to wood to make it look old - often used in maritime themes - looks like driftwood.

Simulates limewash or an "antique" finish, and is generally applied with thinned acrylic paint on a sponge.

Often applied with a Krakeleur-Effekt (cracking and crazing) in a contrasting colour
