Sallying insectivores seraient des insectivores aériens avec une caractéristique supplémentaire (le fait de dévorer leur proie sur leur perchoir). J'ai l'impression qu'on ne retrouve pas encore de terme succinct pour qualifier cela en français. Si c'est exact (à vérifier), je propose la solution savante suivante :

  -> Merci mais je pense qu'il faut rajouter un qualificatif complémentaire à insectivore aérien, si l'aspect perchoir fait bien partie du sens du mot sallying dans le texte d'origine.

Explanation:
Il semblerait que le terme « colportage aérien » correspond au terme « sallying » si l'on en juge par cette page Wikipedia. La même idée de l'oiseau partant de son perchoir pour attraper l'insecte en vol et revenir ensuite au même perchoir ou à un autre dans le voisinage se retrouve dans plusieurs des réponses ici.
Je dois préciser que je n'ai pas trouvé ce terme ailleurs pour le moment mais je vais continuer à chercher.
