enchaînement de causes et d'effets / des impacts Explanation: l'enchaînement de causes et d'effets (produisant l'impact prévu) l'enchaînement des impacts la succession des impacts The writer didn't pluck "pathways" out of thin air - there is a clear parallel with "metabolic pathways" in physiology pathway /ˈpɑːθweɪ/ noun a track that constitutes or serves as a path. "a tree-lined pathway" BIOCHEMISTRY a sequence of chemical reactions undergone by a compound or class of compounds in a living organism. noun: metabolic pathway "enzymes of the glycolytic pathway" (sounds like a pretty good clue to me that there is some "enchaînement / cascade" somewhere in this story) the basic idea of "pathway" in this ST is that the intended "tangible outcomes and contributions to macro-level impacts" will NOT happen directly from the proposed actions/changes but through a chain of successive impacts leading to the desired result - thus the need for a "diagram" showing what would be this "chain of causal impacts". The diagram above lays out [the program’s theory of change] and causal impact pathways which demonstrate how the proposed interventions will lead to tangible outcomes [and contribute to macro-level impacts]. = Le diagramme ci-dessus explique .... l'enchaînement de causes et d'effets [prévu] qui (= le diagramme) démontre comment les interventions proposées vont mener finalement à des résultats tangibles .... BTW, here is an interesting example of unexpected "pathways" in economics: "Freakonomics" a book by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven Levitt (just a sample: http://freakonomics.com/podcast/abortion/ ) |
