or is it lame? vai onko se yksitoikkoista? Explanation: In this context, the meaning of "lame" would be "uninspiring and dull" in contrast to something intended to be entertaining ("cool"). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2007-02-03 22:03:56 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Of course, Marju's suggestion is a good one. But as she already gave one wrong answer, she should have commented under my answer, not tried to improve her own answer relying on my explanation. I don't want to be picky, but as there is a rule about giving only one answer, I wish to let Maiju know about it as she may not remember. |

or is it lame? Vai onko se himmeetä? Explanation: I would think that the word himmeä 'dim' (colloquial "himmeetä" vs. "himmeätä") would be more appropriate here. "Tylsä" is a good word, but it is a very high frequency word and it is used in the "proper" contexts so much more than with the connotation that Bart is trying to get across. Tylsä seems to be a very dated term, especially if you think that the speaker is a terminal pre-teen obnoxious kid. Example sentence(s):
