In drama, a speech directed to the audience that supposedly is not audible to the other characters onstage at the time. When Hamlet first appears onstage, for example, his aside "A little more than kin, and less than kind!" gives the audience a strong sense of his alienation from King Claudius.

Ako je glumac sam na bini monolog se može nazvati i "solilokvij". Ovaj tip monologa se često koristi za izražavanje misli i osjećanja samog lika bez uvođenja treće osobe kao naratora. Solilokvij ne čuju ostali likovi iako se možda izgovara i ispred njih samih.

No  arsenates: Nažalost nije isto. Solilokvij je vrsta monologa gdje je lik na sceni sam i govori, dok je aside obično naznačeno u didaskalijama, a odnosi se na riječi koje lik izgovara publici tako da ga ostali likovi prisutni na pozornici ne čuju. Moguć i duzi i kraći

  -> ja sam i pod slolilokvij našla da je to kad se lik obraća publici kao da ga ostali likovi ne čuju , kao što i gore piše i isto tako je čest u književnoj i dramskoj praksi. A replika je nešto posve drugo.
