Osobni, privatni ili nebankovni ček kojeg banka (trasat) kod koje izdatnik (trasant) ima odgovarajuće pokriće, na njegov zahtjev prihvaća (akceptira), odnosno potvrđuje (certificira), upisujući na njemu jednu od klauzula: “certified”, “good”, “all right” ili “accepted” uz potpis ovlaštene osobe i upis datuma prihvata. Time banka potvrđuje sigurnost čeka jer je ona rezervirala čekovnu svotu radi honoriranja do izminuća roka propisanog za njegovu isplatu te se obvezala kao isključivi čekovni dužnik. Prema hrvatskom pravu izjava o akceptu koja bi se stavila na ček nema čekovno-pravnog učinka, a trasat ne može ujedno biti i avalist, pa pitanje tumačenja potvrde čeka prema hrvatskom pravu ostaje otvoreno.

disagree  Daryo: one right answer and one wrong - no good, especially when money is at stake ... You give someone the possibility to pay you by a crossed cheque instead of a certified cheque and you would be really asking for serious financial troubles for yourself!

Barirani ček vrsta obračunskog čeka, čija se posebnost sastoji u tome što je na licu precrtan s dvjema dijagonalno i međusobno usporedno povučenim crtama, a može se naplatiti samo preko banke, i to obračunom, a ne u gotovu novcu. Njegov imatelj ne stječe neposredno pravo potraživati predaju novca od banke, već ima pravo zahtijevati pripis čekovne svote saldu na svom računu.

Potvrđeni ček

Potvrđeni ček (engl. certified check, njem. bestätigte Scheck) je ček koji na svom licu sadrži potvrdu trasata da pokriće kod njega zaista postoji, te da će postojati do isplate čeka. Takvom naznakom trasat jamči za isplatu čeka u okviru roka za njegovo podnošenje za isplatu.

Potvrda se najčešće očituje riječju good, certified ili approved. Prema hrvatskom pravu izjava o akceptu koja bi se stavila na ček nema čekovno-pravnog učinka, a trasat ne može ujedno biti i avalist, pa pitanje tumačenja potvrde čeka prema hrvatskom pravu ostaje otvoreno.
