These following strings are system voice prompts used in the Voice Recognition portion of an infotainment system software (UI). These are the prompts the user will hear when interacting with the system.

Our client is asking about the differences with the translated word "and" in the following strings. Their end-client's QA reviewer (Chinese native) feels that "并且" is not correct.

I would like some feedback as to whether or not the QA reviewer is correct. And, if so, what would be the correct word?

(Please also comment on the use of "以及" even though the QA reviewer is not questioning it, right now.)

and, media. --> 和媒体。
"play" followed by the artist and album or song name, --> 说“播放”，然后说艺术家和专辑或歌曲名称，
and, "play playlist" followed by the playlist's name. --> 并且说“播放播放列表”，然后说播放列表的名称。
and, Channel scan. --> 以及频道扫描。

It’d help to know the context in order to be accurate. However, I thought my back translation and comments below may help you decide.

First, a back translation:

say “play”, then say artist(’s) and album(‘s) or song(’s) name,
and/then/as well as say “play playlist”, then say playlist‘s name.
and/as well as channel scan.

In general, 和 and 并且 both mean “and”/”as well as”, which can be used interchangeably in sentences for variety. However, I think the latter (并且) should be used where sentences are concerned - to illustrate this, when I speak Chinese, I can say “orange 和 chocolate” but not “orange 并且apple” but I could say (note this is a simplistic example for illustration) “He ate an apple并且(he) ate a piece of chocolate” or “He ate an apple和 (he) ate a piece of chocolate”.

By the way, “以及” means “as well as”/”and” as well.

You're welcome, Gina. Hopefully the back translation helps - Oh, 并且can also be understood as "further" in the above. By the way, syntactically the original translation seems OK to me.
