Dutch to English translations [PRO] Philosophy / religious connotations
Dutch term or phrase:zijnswijze
Juist diegene die vergeeft onderkent dat dit kwaad een zijnswijze van de vrijheid is en dat de booswicht tot een alternatief in staat is. (context: discussion moral evil/natural evil
I have decided, that from now on, whenever you say sth mean to me, unprovoked, I will instead of slinging mud back at you, shower you with love. Fake love, mind you, but it's appearances that count.
So, from the bottom of my heart … thank you for your hilarious dig re the BA in Philosophy and may your life bring you nothing but happiness and prosperity.
I see, so Carteridge has a BA in Philosophy. Hmm. Yeah, that's immediately apparent from his/her profile.
I only called you those names after you provoked me, and because in each case, you acted like one. Not that it really matters though, as you'll just continue anyway, no matter what I say or do. So all I can do is sit back and make sure I have enough popcorn, which is fine by me.
And let me make just one more point. You denied that the remark about the BA was aimed at me, which is obviously a lie. So, assuming it was directed at me, what you basically did was say sth nasty to me based on sth I said months ago. However, the moderator has asked us both to play nice. Meaning: if the other doesn't do anything terrible to you on a given day (read: KudoZ page), don't do anything silly to them. Hell, she actually asked us to not do anything back even if the other does provoke you. I agreed, and said that I would do my best, which I have been trying to do. But it's stunts like the one you pulled today that throw a spanner in the works: if either of us continues saying stupid things based on past stupid things, this idiocy will never end.
... people don't like to be called names like 'dumb ass' and 'moron', and that's maybe why I don't like you... And I know you tried to be smart about it by removing those d-box entries just in time before the mod would have done so. However, those entries still remained to be read by anyone who turned on the notification service. I did not notify the moderator about these insults, however, don't trigger me.
'unprovoked nasty comments', don't know what you're talking about...
OK, so instead of reacting to yet another one of your unprovoked nasty comments, as I often do, I am going to ask you politely to remove your comment*, which is obviously directed at me, or I will ask Stieneke (the moderator) to do it for you.
This is a perfect example of the problem: for no reason whatsoever (at least no reason stemming from this page), you make a nasty comment directed at or about me. I then usually respond in kind. However, Stieneke has asked me to try to remain civil, and to simply notify her whenever you do it. I think it's fair to say that I don't like you, and you don't like me. That much is obvious by now. However, please try to stick to the rules.
*"freekfluweel: And you don't even have a BA in Philosophy! Some nice thinking!"
...onderkent dat dit kwaad een zijnswijze van de vrijheid = ...recognises that this evil is another form of freedom ...recognises that this evil is actually [just] another form of freedom ...recognises that this evil is actually a form of freedom etc.
