I found about 2960 googlehits for "exhibition booth" on co.uk sites. It may be due to SEO and keywords that booth is now more common in the UK.

agree  writeaway: a booth isn't really the same as a stand in US English either /a booth isn't the same as a stand at a trade fair. yes, booth at markets or fun fairs. in any case Asker has gone for exhibition stand.......

  -> Actually it is. In the UK, a booth is an enclosed space, eg for voting, but in the US it's what you see at a market. But thanks for agreeing!
