Danish term or phrase: der er
It's a quote from a Danish (I think) text inserted into a Swedish text. I understand that it's about socially or economically disadvantaged youth - but I'm having major problems with working out what 'der er' refers to/means.

Thanks in advance for any help. Full sentence reads:

Sørensen (2000) menar att merparten av den forskning som studerar ungdomar och rusmedel har koncentrerat sig på bruket av t.ex. alkohol och cannabis bland ”socialt og/eller økonomiskt dårligt stillede unge, der er synlige fordi brugen af rusmidlet påvirker deres skolegang, och fordi de begår kriminalitet”
