Danish term or phrase: Politieret
In 1790, a group of ferrymen from Helsingør helped free a German brig, which had run aground near that place, for which they were given a reward of 50 rigsdaler. The headmaster of the ferryman’s guild insisted that they should hand this payment over to the guild in order to receive a suitable reward for their trouble. When they declined to do so, the headmaster and the assistants passed sentence on them to hand over what they had received to the guild’s treasury, and, besides that, to pay a fine of 2 rigsdaler, and when they refused to comply with this judgment,

Under 3die Febr. 1791 er Dommen paaanket for Landstinget, hvor Prok. Hansen af Meulenborg har fremlagt paa Citanternes Vegne Politieretsdommen…”

The appeal heard in the provincial court resulted as follows: “Politierettens Dom af 16 November 1790 frafaldes…”

I can't seem to find a translation or even a good definition of exactly what a "Politieret" is. Is it a police court judge, who handled very minor disputes?
